India’s first and leading wholesaler Metro Cash & Carry has announced to step up its private labels in India. The company has zeroed in on four categories, local Kiranas [your neighborhood retailer in India], mom-and-pop-stores, restaurants and hotels for enhancing its private labels business.
Currently Metro has two brands – ARO targeted at kiranas and mom-and-pop stores. HoReCa targeted at restaurants and hoteliers. Metro is planning to trap the lucrative Dairy business including liquid milk segment. [Heritage Foods Fresh @ stores has also launched dairy private labels in dairy segment]
