Buoyed by the tremendous response and successful implementation of refilling printer / multifunction device [MFD] cartridges, Australian retailer Cartridge World is all set to expand its footprint in India now.
We were the first one to report about Cartridge World’s franchisee opportunity last year. The company which currently has 33 stores wants to add 67 stores by the end of this year taking the total count to 100. All of the new additions will be by means of franchising. Mr. Naveen Rakecha, CEO of Cartridge World India said,
The Indian market for cartridges is now estimated at Rs 2,500 crore and projected to touch Rs 3,000 crore this year. It is growing at an average rate of 30%. We are looking at garnering 10% of the total market share in India.
With e-Commerce, e-Ticketing, printing photos at home on the rise in an Indian family, printers and its consumable services is set to see a spike in business. Refilled cartridges will cost just half of the original price.
Reliance-Office Depot’s new venture may also start similar services.
