Tata’s controlled LandMark chain of concept stores which stock and sell Books and Music is opening its first store in Pune. The store is located on MoleDina Road and is spread across 16,000 sft on four floors. Insiders tell that the store was setup at a cost of $1 Million [Rs 4.5 crores].
LandMark already has stores in Bangalore / Bengalooru, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkatta, Gurgaon and Vadodra.
LandMark will launch its next store in Lucknow in Feb-2007. LandMark executives said that the focus is now to move into mini metros and Tier-II cities across India.
LandMark’s competitor in India is CrossWord chain of concept stores.
