World over people are transitioning to Digital Cameras. The younger generation is logging on to the world of photography with Digital Cameras and the market is expanding especially with huge demand from emerging economies.
Japanese company, Canon is all set to focus on Digital Imaging retail business in India by creating more brand awareness and aims a turnover of Rs 800 crore next year. The company has set aside Rs 100 crore towards Advertising and Marketing. The company will introduce new products in Digicams, camcorders, SLR cameras etc.
Canon India VP, Mr. Alok Bharadwaj said,
Our focus on retail is definitely increasing as we are planning to open six exclusive showrooms by June next year for end consumers and three outlets for business equipment which will go upto 20 in the next 2 years to help in building the brand.
Exclusive showrooms will be centers for creating brand awareness. Fore retail sales, the company has tied up with organized retailers such as Tata Croma, Big Bazaar, Metro, Reliance Digital, Jumbo, etc.
