The Pais of Manipal group have decided to part ways with Big Bazaar and just now announced the launch of Cure & Care – Health and Wellness chain of retail stores. Pais were in talks with Future group for space in their stores but due to the non-availability of premium real estate, the talks were called off but didn’t rule out future negotiations.
The business will involve an investment of Rs 150 crore over three years to establish 10 outlets. The first two will come up in Bangalore and Ahmedabad. Cure & Care will have up to 70 professionals serving customers. It will have seven specialities – pediatrics, women’s health, lifestyle, nutrition, eye, skin and oral care. Cure & Care will be an outlet for OTC and prescription products.
Mr Somnath Das, COO of Cure and Care said,
There is a huge space in the wellness, preventive and cosmetic care segments. We plan to integrate our skills in the health care to ride the wave of retail boom. We are also looking for like minded investors to join as franchisees in the second or third year.
