Godrej Appliances is planning to increase its focus on the premium segment of the consumer durables market. Not a bad idea at all when the Finance Minister has assured that he is looking forward to increase FMCG and Consumer Durables consumption which has taken a hit lately.
The company is targeting 30% revenue from this premium segment. Godrej COO, Menezes said,
Across the FMCG sector, the premium sector is growing the fastest and this will be our strategy also. It is mainly the younger customers driving the sector.
The company has launched 17 models of split ACs inspite of the fact that these ACs are 30% more expensive than window ACs. The company has also launched refrigerator and dynamic power control washing machine.
Godrej will add 200 Cool Zones in Godrej Appliance showrooms across India. Cool Zones will have experts addressing consumer questions on buying and maintaining air conditioners.
