Delhi based food chain, Nirula’s which started more than a decade ago with Burgers and Pizzas is now serving soups, thalis, combos, tandoori’n’curry, desi bread, ice creams, shakes and pastries in a multi format [standalone, shop-in-shops in malls,ice-cream kiosks, airports] food chain.
The company will now expand to Lucknow, Rajasthan and Gujarat through franchisees. It will go on its own in the lucrative markets of Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. Nirula’s plans to spend Rs 150 crore this year and most of it will be in launching new outlets, refurbishing old ones, upgrading IT systems and its factories.
It is not just Tata Motors or Bharti Airtel going global. Nirula’s have had inquiries for establishing their food chain abroad. Mr. Samir Kukreja, CEO of Nirula’s said,
We have not finalized our plans but are evaluating our foray abroad. Countries such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, UAE and Saudi Arabia are the places we can look into, but only after a year.
The company already has a transit shop in Delhi airport and is planning to setup transition store at Railway stations.
