Vimal is the first and the heritage brand of controversial Reliance Group which marked its entry into the Indian textile market. Vimal was named after Dhirubhai’s nephew, was revamped in 2007 with the groups foray into retail business.

In a fresh communique, Reliance has released “1,500 new outlets across India waiting for you” with new Tag Line Dressing up New India wants to send a signal that it is not an end of road for the brand yet. The message also highlights Indian Woman in Western Wear which is something Reliance was averse to but maybe with changing times they mad adopt and cater to the growing aspirations of Indian women. Jubilant’s Domino’s Pizza Selling Hot; Dunkin Donuts Indianized – Outlook

Jubilant Foodworks master franchisee of Dominos Pizza and Dunkin Donuts in India reported healthy 42% YoY revenue growth in 2QFY13. Company highlighted that consumer demand has seen a healthy pick-up since Sept-12. Same store sales growth came in at 20%. Online and mobile ordering platforms have been well accepted by the consumers reflected in the fact that 14% of delivery orders were made online.

Mahindras Massive Expansion of MomandMe by Franchise Route, Embrace e-Commerce

The Mahindra Industrial group primarily focused on Automobiles and Finance ventured into retail few years ago with the launch of Mom & Me chain of stores exclusively catering to expecting mothers, new born babies. The retail business expanded to 45 cities with 99 stores as on date.

Shoppers Stop – Tough Economy, Same Store Sales Muted
