Titan India’s Leading Watch Brand is all set to cash in on the growing purchasing power of the Middle Class Indians in smaller cities and towns. Currently, Titan has 50 small format stores. Nilgiri’s the food and Grocery Retail Chain with large presence in South India earns over 30% of its food category revenues from Private Labels in categories such as Cereals, Dairy Products, Bakery and Pulses. Bakery products contribute 15% of the overall food segment sales.

Carrefour, Metro Rush to Tier 2 / 3 Cities Post FDI Clearances
With the opening of FDI in Retail, French Retailer Carrefour and German retailer Metro already present in Cash-n-Carry / Hypermarket format are strengthening their presence in Tier 2 / 3 Cities. Carrefour announced the opening of its third store in Meerut while Metro is opening its 10th store in Amritsar. Bharti Wal-Mart’s Best Price Modern Wholesale is already present in both these cities thus offering consumers a big choice for shopping.
